A7 4G (Facelift) – Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
This retrofit enables Lane Departure Warning (LDW) functionality for the 2015+ facelift A7, S7 and RS7 (4G). Once installed and configured, the driver can enable or disable the LDW system using a new button fitted to the end of the indicator stalk.
When activated, a yellow LDW icon will appear at the top of the instrument cluster to indicate that the system is active and ready. In addition, two grey lane markings will be displayed within the centre screen of the instrument cluster when that display view is selected. Vehicles equipped with a Head-Up Display (HUD) will also show the lane markings within the HUD display.
While driving, once the camera detects valid road markings, the yellow LDW icon will change to green and the lane markings shown in the instrument cluster and HUD will change from grey to white. If the vehicle begins to drift over a lane marking, the lane markings will turn red. Optionally, the steering wheel can gently vibrate to warn the driver, and the system can also provide subtle steering input to help guide the vehicle back towards the centre of the lane.
The LDW system can also be configured through the MMI, allowing the driver to enable or disable steering wheel vibration and adjust whether the system reacts earlier or later when detecting lane departure.
