A7/S7 4G – Traffic Sign Recognition

This retrofit enables Genuine OEM Traffic Sign Recognition functionality for the Audi A7/S7 4G Facelift (2015-2019).

The system reads road signs as you drive and displays the current speed limit directly within the vehicle. This includes temporary speed restrictions such as those used during roadworks. If the camera is unable to detect a sign, the system can fall back to the navigation map data stored within the vehicle to continue displaying the expected speed limit information.

Depending on the specification of the vehicle, speed limit information is displayed within the instrument cluster and can also be shown within the Head-Up Display (HUD) where fitted.

A key requirement for this retrofit is the presence of the forward-facing camera mounted at the top of the windscreen. Please refer to the images within this listing showing the camera location. If your vehicle is not already equipped with this camera system, the retrofit may still be possible, however it will require replacement of the windscreen with the correct camera-compatible version along with installation and calibration of the camera system itself.

The vehicle must also be equipped with the High MMI system. This can be verified via the “Version Information” screen within the MMI. Vehicles with software versions beginning with “MHI2” are supported, whereas systems beginning with “RMC” are unfortunately not compatible with this retrofit.
